PARIMUTUEL HORSE RACES
Parimutuel horse racing was added to the line-up of CRR events in 1967, and continues annually, in July, at the Crook County Fairgrounds. Prineville’s Crooked River Roundup brings together community members and visitors to witness the athleticism of some of the fastest horses and best jockeys in the Northwest, and the Races attract the largest daily attendance of any track in Oregon.

Did you know?
In 1966, preprinted tickets were sold through windows cut into the back of the Grandstand. Sales were hand-calculated by volunteers who manned the windows, and the impressive sounding "Totalizator Board" was really a large chalkboard used to calculate the racing odds.
