Leading the Way: CRR Board of Directors and Volunteers

It takes over 200 volunteers and a strong, hard-working Board of Directors to bring the Crooked River Roundup and pari-mutuel horse racing to Prineville, Oregon, every year. Our Board members, all volunteers, work tirelessly to create a professional rodeo that’s entertaining while organizing the state’s largest horse racing event. Members wear multiple hats and work their hardest to bring the best skills to the table. We’re incredibly grateful and fortunate to have such talented and committed volunteers in our ranks: We cannot thank them enough for all they do!

Yes, we need more volunteers—always. As our rodeo and races continue to grow and events are added, we can’t keep up with the required tasks without our precious volunteers.

CRR Flashback

Did you know?

In 1979, barely a month before the show, a motion was brought before the Board to cancel the Roundup due to the daunting amount of work outstanding. But before the vote could be taken, there was a mass exodus…with key members leaving the meeting to get back to work with preparations for the show. In the end, thanks to their efforts alongside dozens of community volunteers, the show went on.
