2012 Queen
Jordan Payne of Redmond, Oregon was named the 2012 Crooked River Roundup Queen at the January 22 tryouts held at the Crook County Fairgrounds. In addition to the title, Jordan won the categories of Horsemanship and Appearance. First Runner-up Rachale Zuhlke won the categories of Speech, Knowledge, and Personality. Rachale also received the Spirit and Photogenics awards.
Nineteen-year-old Jordan is a graduate of Redmond High School where she was active in competitive sports and the Oregon High School Equestrian Team. She was also interested in agriculture, which led to her involvement in 4-H and FFA.
As the 2012 Queen, Jordan will represent the Crooked River Roundup Rodeo and Race Meet at various rodeos, parades, and civic events throughout Oregon during 2012. She says, “As the ambassador for the Crooked River Roundup, my goal is to inspire enthusiasm for all ages of rodeo fans and competitors, enabling professional rodeo to succeed. I will aspire to promote rodeo while leaving a permanent impression with every life I touch.”
